Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DinnerTap, operated by Wadia, LLC ("we," "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Service. See also our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and login credentials (passwords are stored hashed).
- Household preferences: household size, allergies and foods to avoid, cooking methods, protein and other filters, budget, and pantry staples.
- Activity: suggested and approved meals, meal schedules, ratings, and product choices.
- Grocery connection data: OAuth authorization tokens and your selected store location. We never collect or store your Kroger password.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive limited details such as subscription status and the last four digits.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and logs needed to run and secure the Service.
2. How we use information
To provide and personalize meal suggestions; estimate costs; add ingredients to your grocery cart at your direction; process subscriptions; learn your household's preferences from ratings; provide support; secure the Service and prevent fraud; and comply with law.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, under obligations to protect it:
- Netlify — hosting, authentication, and data storage.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- AI provider(s) — process your preferences, filters, and ratings to generate meal suggestions. We do not send your payment details or grocery passwords.
- Kroger (and future grocers you connect) — receives product and cart requests you authorize. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you logged in and secure your session. We do not use advertising cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from logging in.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by deleting your account or emailing support@dinnertap.com. We will delete or de-identify your personal information, and revoke stored grocery tokens, within a reasonable period (generally 30 days), except where we must retain limited records (such as billing records) for legal, tax, or security purposes.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA), you may have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; access a copy of it; correct it; delete it; and opt out of its sale or sharing (we do not sell or share it). You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email support@dinnertap.com. We will verify your identity before responding and may accept requests from an authorized agent with proof of authorization.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and restricted access to tokens and data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. Household preference data you enter about family members (such as allergies) should be limited to what is needed for meal planning.
9. Where data is processed
We and our service providers process data in the United States and possibly other countries.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
